Ear-Piercing Innovation: A Founder leaves Finance & Partners with Nurses to Transform an Industry

Louisa Schneider discusses navigating the pandemic to grow their at-home services, how her company's business model enables nurses looking for alternative opportunities to be empowered in their work and how she aims to keep flexible work patterns a priority for Rowan employees.

Louisa Serene Schneider is the founder and CEO of Rowan, a business idea that came to her when taking her teen nieces to get their ears pierced at the mall. She found the experience lacking in safety and celebration. And from there the idea of Rowan was born - a safe piercing experience celebrated as a life milestone, done only by nursing professionals, drawing from a network of 150+ nurses in 14 states so far. In this episode, Louisa shares how she transitioned from finance, having covered consumer and retail at JP Morgan before receiving her MBA from Columbia Business School and then trading retail at Morgan Stanley. She discusses navigating the pandemic to grow their at-home services, how her company's business model enables nurses looking for alternative opportunities to be empowered in their work and how she aims to keep flexible work patterns a priority for Rowan employees.
