In this episode we unpack another mid-life career pivot that focuses on "getting out of your own way" in your transformation journey, realizing your natural talents and how to reject imposter syndrome for good.
Before starting her interior decorating business Emily Meszkat was classically trained in opera and worked at a major international bank while raising a family in the suburbs of NY. While she was fulfilled for a time, Emily felt her creative juices needed more opportunity to flow. She had always been passionate about design, coming from a background in the arts. But it wasn’t until she teamed up with a friend, an interior designer in San Francisco, working together on e-design projects, that Emily had her “aha!" moment. In other words the, "I can get paid to do what I love and am talented at" realization. Today Emily Meszkat Interiors integrates beautiful design schemes with family-friendly materials and budgets in mind. She takes joy in finding the perfect wallpaper, furniture placements, paint colors, and more that make a house feel like home. The mantra that's served Emily most? "Ready is a decision, not a feeling."
